Mr. Dunning is a consultant Thoracic Surgeon with an interest in endoscopic lung cancer surgery and Robotic Lung Cancer surgery practicing in the NHS.
He completed medical school at Oxford University and obtained his PhD at Manchester University. He transitioned into cardiothoracic surgery after that, and has since coauthored eighteen international guidelines (nine as first author ). He has also created the cardiothoracic advanced life support course which teaches safer emergency care after cardiac surgery and catheter lab procedures to units and clinicians all over the world.
In addition, he has led heart surgery humanitarian missions to Ghana since 2019 and runs Pace4life, a charity that implanted 200 reconditioned pacemakers last year.
Today, he is a thoracic surgeon in the James Cook University Hospital in the UK, and editor in chief of CTSNet.org, most comprehensive, heavily trafficked, and reliable online source of information about cardiothoracic surgery available worldwide.
