Dr. Bisrat Demeke Shiferaw is a cardiologist and Assistant Professor at St. Paul's Hospital Millennium Medical College in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She earned her medical degree from Bahir Dar University, completed residency training in internal medicine and fellowship in cardiology at St. Paul's, and holds a Master of Public Health from the Addis Continental Institute of Public Health. Dr. Shiferaw has been instrumental in pioneering electrophysiology services in Ethiopia, participating in the country's first EP procedures and supporting ongoing interventional cardiology campaigns.
A passionate educator, she provides cardiovascular and echocardiography training across Ethiopian universities and was recently awarded for her case presentation at the EP IEP Fellows' Conference in Austin, Texas. Her leadership extends nationally as Secretary General of the Ethiopian Medical Association and board member of the Ethiopian Society of Internal Medicine. Through her clinical work, research on cardiovascular care in resource-limited settings, and commitment to medical education, Dr. Shiferaw is advancing cardiac care accessibility in Ethiopia and East Africa.
