Dr. Ololade Akintoye is a pediatric cardiologist with Orlando Health Children's Heart Institute, where she serves as Director of the Cardiac Neurology Program. She is double board certified in pediatrics and pediatric cardiology, with specialized expertise in perinatal and neonatal cardiology as well as advanced noninvasive cardiovascular imaging.
Dr. Akintoye earned her Bachelor of Science in microbiology with honors from the University of Georgia and her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. She completed her pediatrics residency at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and her pediatric cardiology fellowship at Duke University Medical Center, followed by advanced training in cardiovascular noninvasive imaging and fetal cardiology at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta/Emory University School of Medicine.
Her research interests include pediatric hypertension, cardiac transplantation in Duchenne muscular dystrophy, hypoplastic left heart syndrome, single ventricle physiology, and fetal cardiology. Dr. Akintoye is committed to advancing outcomes for children with complex congenital heart disease and their families. She is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Cardiology, American Society of Echocardiography, Fetal Heart Society, and the Congenital Heart Neurodevelopmental Outcomes Collaborative.
