Professor Jane Ajuluchukwu is a distinguished faculty member at the College of Medicine, University of Lagos, Nigeria, where she serves as the Head of the Department of Medicine. A product of the same institution, she completed her medical school and residency in Internal Medicine at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).


Her academic journey includes a transformative stint as a Visiting Fellow in the Division of Cardiology at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA. She was later awarded the prestigious Equity and Merit Scheme scholarship by the Government of Australia for her M.Med program at the University of Melbourne, Victoria/Royal Melbourne Hospital. Following this, she returned to LUTH to complete her cardiology training.


Professor Ajuluchukwu’sdedication and expertise quickly earned her a position as a Lecturer at the University of Lagos. She has since risen through the academic ranks, becoming a Professor in 2012. Her collaborative spirit is evident through her extensive partnerships at intradepartmental, inter-departmental, inter-faculty, inter-institutional, and international levels, resulting in over 40 authored and co-authored publications.


Her notable contributions to cardiology include serving as a Temporary Adviser to the World Health Organization on Secondary Prevention in Resource-Poor Countries, being a member of the National Expert NCD Committee of the Federal Ministry of Health and holding the positions of Executive Secretary to the Cardiovascular Subsection Committee and President of the Nigerian Cardiovascular Society.


Additionally, Professor Ajuluchukwu is a founding member of the Cardiovascular Education Foundation, where she continues to provide leadership and guidance in advancing cardiovascular education in Nigeria

The Cardiovascular Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) international nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting cardiovascular education, research and patient care in Africa and the African Diaspora.
