Dr. Tayo Addo is Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center and Medical Director of the Catheterization Laboratory at Parkland Memorial Hospital.


Dr. Addo earned his medical degree from UT Southwestern, where he also completed his internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship, followed by advanced interventional training at Lenox Hill Hospital and Columbia University Medical Center in New York. 

A nationally recognized educator and investigator, he serves as Director of the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship Program at UT Southwestern. Dr. Addo specializes in complex percutaneous coronary interventions and peripheral vascular procedures, with research interests in cardiogenic shock, myocardial ischemia management, and advances in endovascular revascularization technologies. 


Board certified in cardiovascular diseases and interventional cardiology, he is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and an active member of the Association of Black Cardiologists. Among his many honors, Dr. Addo received an Army Achievement Commendation for his service during Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.


The Cardiovascular Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) international nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting cardiovascular education, research and patient care in Africa and the African Diaspora.
