With over five years of diverse healthcare experience, Mariatou has developed expertise across research, outpatient care, and specialized cardiac nursing. She spent two years as a Research Nurse with the Medical Research Council London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, where she screened over 3,000 participants for rheumatic heart disease using handheld echocardiography and assisted expert cardiologists in clinical assessments.

Currently leading the five-bed cardiology unit at her hospital, Mariatou provides comprehensive cardiac care including ECG procedures, cardiac monitoring, and echocardiography assistance. She collaborates with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop individualized care plans and coordinate timely surgical referrals for cardiac patients.
