Dr. Wilson W. Lam is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics-Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, with dual appointments in Pediatric Cardiology and Adult Cardiology. He also serves as Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program. A Baylor College of Medicine family member since 1999, Dr. Lam completed his MD (2003), combined internal medicine-pediatrics residency, and served as Chief Medical Resident before pursuing his combined adult cardiovascular disease and pediatric cardiology fellowship, followed by clinical cardiac electrophysiology fellowship.
Dr. Lam holds multiple board certifications including General Internal Medicine, General Pediatrics, Cardiovascular Disease, Pediatric Cardiology, Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology, Adult Congenital Heart Disease, and Echocardiography. His clinical expertise focuses on adult congenital heart disease and electrophysiology, with particular interest in device and arrhythmia management for complex congenital heart disease patients.
A passionate educator, Dr. Lam has been recognized with multiple teaching awards including the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society, Dean of Education Teaching Excellence Award (2005-2007), and H. Irving Schweppe Award for Superb Humanistic Skills. He actively teaches medical students, residents, and cardiology fellows through didactic lectures, clinical services, and journal clubs, and coaches the accomplished internal medicine Medical Jeopardy team.
