Dr. Ramon Moronkola is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) and an Associate Lecturer at Lagos State University. He also serves as Director of Service Delivery at LASUTH, combining clinical practice with medical education, hospital leadership, and healthcare advocacy.
Dr. Moronkola earned his medical degree from the University of Lagos and completed postgraduate training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at Lagos University Teaching Hospital, becoming a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians.
The Cardiovascular Education Foundation (CVEF) has played an important role in his development in interventional cardiology and cardiac device therapy. Beginning with CVEF educational programs, he progressed to hands-on training during interventional missions and continued mentorship, followed by additional post-fellowship training at Christian Medical College in India. Today, he is part of a growing generation of locally based specialists working to expand access to advanced cardiovascular care in Nigeria.
Dr. Moronkola is also active in cardiovascular research, public education, and healthcare advocacy, with a particular commitment to expanding access to specialist cardiovascular services and strengthening Nigeria’s healthcare system.
