Oladipupo Olafiranye MD, MPH

Oladipupo Olafiranye, MD, MS, FACC is an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and an interventional cardiologist at the VA North Texas Health Care System, where he serves as Chief of Interventional Cardiology and Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories. His work combines clinical leadership, interventional cardiovascular care, research, education, and service.

Dr. Olafiranyeearned his medical degree from Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria before continuing his postgraduate medical training in Grenada and the United States. He completed Internal Medicine residency and Cardiovascular Disease fellowship at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, followed by advanced fellowship training in Interventional Cardiology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He subsequently earned a Master of Science in Clinical and Translational Research from the University of Pittsburgh, along with additional training in healthcare leadership and business.

An experienced clinician, educator, and investigator, Dr. Olafiranye is committed to advancing high-quality cardiovascular care while training the next generation of physicians. He is an essential member of the Cardiovascular Education Foundation (CVEF), where he has been deeply involved in training cardiologists in advanced interventional techniques both in the United States and internationally. Through his clinical, academic, and global health work, he is committed to building sustainable cardiovascular expertise and expanding access to advanced cardiac care in underserved settings.
