Oladipupo Olafiranye, MD is an interventional cardiologist and Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He serves as Chief of Interventional Cardiology and Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories at the VA North Texas Health Care System, where he provides leadership in complex coronary and structural cardiovascular care while advancing excellence in clinical practice, education, and research.


Dr. Olafiranye earned his medical degree from Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria before completing postgraduate training in Grenada and the United States. He completed his Internal Medicine residency and Cardiovascular Disease fellowship at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, followed by advanced fellowship training in Interventional Cardiology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He also earned a Master of Science in Clinical and Translational Research from the University of Pittsburgh, along with certification in Healthcare Leadership and Business Fundamentals.


An accomplished clinician, educator, and investigator, Dr. Olafiranye is recognized for his contributions to interventional cardiology, clinical research, and physician education. He is actively involved in community outreach and global cardiovascular health initiatives and remains committed to improving cardiovascular outcomes through innovation, mentorship, and international collaboration.
