Okechukwu S. Ogah, MBBS, MSc, PhD is a Senior Lecturer in Cardiology at the University of Ibadan and Consultant Physician and Cardiologist at University College Hospital, Ibadan, Nigeria. A past President of the Nigerian Cardiac Society, he is a recognized clinician, researcher, and leader in cardiovascular medicine in Nigeria.


Dr. Ogah earned his medical degree and MSc in Epidemiology and Medical Statistics from the University of Ibadan and a PhD in Medicine from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa. He has also served as a Bernard Lown Visiting Scholar at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and is a Fellow of several national and international cardiovascular professional societies.


A prolific investigator, Dr. Ogah has authored more than 120 peer-reviewed publications. His research focuses on cardiovascular epidemiology and disease in African populations, with interests in hypertension, cardiovascular risk factors, heart disease registries, rheumatic heart disease, and pericardial disease. Through his research, clinical practice, and leadership, he is committed to strengthening the evidence base for cardiovascular care and improving prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease in Nigeria and across Africa.


The Cardiovascular Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) international nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting cardiovascular education, research and patient care in Africa and the African Diaspora.
