Ossama Abou-Hassan MD, FACC

Ossama K. Abou Hassan, MD, FACC is an advanced heart failure and transplant cardiologist and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Baylor Scott & White Health/Baylor College of Medicine in Temple, Texas. His clinical expertise includes advanced heart failure, cardiogenic shock, mechanical circulatory support, cardiac transplantation, infiltrative cardiomyopathies, and advanced cardiovascular imaging.

Dr. Abou Hassan earned his medical degree from the American University of Beirut, where he subsequently completed residency training in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease. He then pursued advanced fellowship training at the Cleveland Clinic in cardiovascular imaging and Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology.

An active clinician-investigator and educator, Dr. Abou Hassan has published extensively in heart failure and cardiovascular imaging, with particular interests in cardiogenic shock, cardiac amyloidosis, diastolic dysfunction, and multimodality imaging. At Baylor Scott & White, he serves as Co-Chair of the Specialty Clinics Heart Failure Subgroup and leads the Temple Infiltrative Cardiomyopathy Working Group. His work brings together advanced imaging and heart failure expertise to improve the diagnosis and management of patients with complex cardiovascular disease.
