Hakeem Ayinde, MD, MS, FACC, FHRS is a clinical cardiac electrophysiologist with Cardiology Associates of Fredericksburg in Virginia, with expertise in complex arrhythmia management, atrial fibrillation, conduction system pacing, cardiac device therapy, and cardioneuroablation.
Dr. Ayinde earned his medical degree from Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria and completed Internal Medicine residency at Howard University Hospital. He subsequently completed fellowship training in Cardiovascular Diseases at the University of Iowa and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at Emory University. He also holds graduate degrees in Translational Biomedicine and Cell and Molecular Biology.
An active national educator and speaker, Dr. Ayinde serves on the Heart Rhythm Society Program Committee and holds leadership roles within the National Medical Association and Association of Black Cardiologists. His research spans atrial fibrillation, device therapy, conduction system pacing, cardiovascular epidemiology, and health disparities. A dedicated mentor, he is particularly committed to advancing cardiovascular health equity and strengthening the pipeline of underrepresented physicians pursuing careers in cardiology and electrophysiology.
