Dr. Ekeruo is a cardiac electrophysiologist and founder of the Arrhythmia Care Center in Houston, Texas. She also serves as Adjunct Associate Professor of Neurology at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, where she previously held faculty appointments in Cardiology and served as Assistant Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program.


Dr. Ekeruo specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, catheter ablation, cardiac implantable electronic devices, and stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation. She has led multidisciplinary initiatives at the intersection of electrophysiology and neurology, including the development of one of the nation's early Embolic Stroke of Undetermined Source (ESUS) clinics, and serves on national leadership committees for the American College of Cardiology and the Heart Rhythm Society.


An accomplished educator and investigator, Dr. Ekeruo has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, contributed to national scientific statements, and is a frequent invited speaker at national and international meetings. She is Secretary of the Cardiovascular Education Foundation and Founder of Heart Rhythm & Brain, a RobomedCares initiative dedicated to advancing cardiovascular and neurological education, expanding access to medical technology, and strengthening the healthcare workforce in low- and middle-income countries. Through clinical innovation, mentorship, and international collaboration, she remains committed to advancing equitable cardiovascular care worldwide.

The Cardiovascular Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) international nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting cardiovascular education, research and patient care in Africa and the African Diaspora.
