Ugochukwu Egolum MD, FACC

Ugochukwu O. Egolum, MD, FACC, FHFSA is an advanced heart failure and transplant cardiologist, clinician-educator, and cardiovascular leader at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. He serves as Medical Director of the Advanced Heart Failure Program and Program Director of the Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship and holds the Chuck and Debbie Jones Endowed Professorship in Cardiology and Medical Education. His clinical expertise includes advanced heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, and infiltrative cardiomyopathies, with a particular focus on cardiac amyloidosis.

Dr. Egolumearned his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine and completed Internal Medicine residency, Cardiovascular Disease fellowship, and advanced fellowship training in Heart Failure, Transplantation, and Mechanical Circulatory Support at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he also served as Chief Fellow.

An accomplished investigator and educator, Dr. Egolumhas led numerous cardiovascular clinical trials and is a frequent invited speaker on heart failure, cardiac amyloidosis, pulmonary hypertension, and medical education. He has held national leadership roles in cardiovascular education and mentorship and has received multiple awards for excellence in teaching and mentorship. His work reflects a longstanding commitment to advancing heart failure care while developing and supporting the next generation of cardiovascular specialists.
