Anastas Dzudie MD, PhD

Anastase Dzudie, MD, PhD is Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Yaoundé I and a clinical cardiologist at Douala General Hospital in Cameroon, where he serves as Head of the Cardiac Arrhythmias Unit. With more than two decades of experience in cardiovascular medicine, his work spans clinical care, research, education, and capacity-building across Africa.

Dr. Dzudie completed his training in Internal Medicine in Yaoundé before pursuing specialized training in Cardiology and Cardiac Arrhythmias at the University Hospital of Lyon in France. He subsequently earned his PhD in Medicine from the University of Cape Town in South Africa.

A prolific clinician-investigator and research mentor, Dr. Dzudie is Principal Investigator for Central Africa IeDEA in Cameroon and co-founder of Clinical Research Education, Networking and Consultancy (CRENC), an organization dedicated to strengthening clinical research capacity in Africa. His research encompasses cardiovascular disease, arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death, hypertension, heart failure, and cardiovascular complications of HIV.

Dr. Dzudie currently serves as President of the Cameroon Cardiac Society and President-Elect of the Pan-African Society of Cardiology. He also contributes to international cardiovascular initiatives and expert groups focused on digital health, acute heart failure, and sudden cardiac death. His career reflects a longstanding commitment to strengthening cardiovascular care, research, and specialist training across Africa.
