David Ikenna Ike, MBBS is a cardiothoracic surgery trainee in the NHS England National Training Program, currently training at Royal Papworth Hospital, Cambridge. He is Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the London School of Cardiothoracics(LSOC), where he has helped build one of the United Kingdom's leading educational platforms for cardiothoracic surgery trainees through simulation, innovation, and global collaboration.
Alongside his surgical training, Dr. Ike is pursuing a Master of Studies in Artificial Intelligence (Ethics and Society) at the University of Cambridge, reflecting his interest in the responsible application of emerging technologies to healthcare. His research interests include aortic surgery, surgical innovation, perioperative psychiatry, and the use of artificial intelligence to improve healthcare delivery and reduce disparities.
Dr. Ike is also the founder of Whealth.AI and has played a key role in establishing the LSOC Foundation and supporting initiatives that expand access to cardiovascular education and foster sustainable partnerships across Africa and other underserved regions. His work brings together clinical excellence, education, technology, and global collaboration to advance the future of surgical cardiovascular care.
