Dr. Tamara Bradford is an Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at LSU Health Sciences Center and a pediatric cardiologist at Manning Family Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, where she serves as Director of the Heart Failure and Cardiomyopathy Program. She specializes in pediatric heart failure, cardiomyopathy, mechanical circulatory support, and heart transplantation.
Originally from St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Dr. Bradford earned her medical degree from Texas A&M College of Medicine. She completed her Pediatrics residency at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, followed by Pediatric Cardiology fellowship and advanced training in Heart Failure, Heart Transplantation, and Mechanical Circulatory Support at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
Dr. Bradford is an active clinical investigator whose research spans pediatric heart failure and transplantation, cardiomyopathy, COVID-19, and MIS-C. She has served as site principal investigator for several major multicenter studies and currently leads her institution’s participation in a clinical trial evaluating aficamten in children with obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
She is also a dedicated educator and mentor, committed to advancing evidence-based, family-centered cardiovascular care for children with congenital and acquired heart disease.
